After Claudia discovered her top marks at school were for calculus, statistics and accounting, it was inevitable that she studied for a career in numbers. The Waikato University Bachelor of Management Studies was the best in the country, so she left Nelson to study in Hamilton. During her four years of study, Claudia met her future husband and so upon graduating in 1995 decided to stay in Hamilton with him.

Commencing her accountancy career in a mid-sized accountancy practice, Claudia’s interest began to grow in accounting software programs. The large variety of programs available to businesses, and the various methods that users were using the programs, made Claudia interested in the process of daily book keeping and how businesses could work smarter, not harder. It was this drive that led Claudia to change employment to a bigger CA firm where this interest was fostered and she began working heavily with accounting programs. It was then that she gained a 99% pass in MYOB Accredited Trainers system and an Approved Trainer for Quickbooks – a qualification she retained until 2005.

When the partner in Claudia’s firm was approached by Deloitte, Claudia assisted with the merger of his practice ranging from assisting with financial data analysis, physically assisting with the office shift, and helping settle into the new environment. Soon after Claudia was promoted to Manager where she shared a team of ten staff, and was responsible for her own portfolio of clients. She still maintained her involvement in accountancy software programs and extended to include responsibility for establishing and managing a executive payroll division. After completing many high level projects and gaining the most from her Deloitte position, Claudia decided it was time to reduce her responsibility level and left the CA environment for the commercial sector.

Claudia enjoyed the commercial environment, having to learn a new industry and to be involved in the various day to day aspect of running a business. However, when an opportunity was offered to transfer to the treasury department in the head office after only three months, Claudia decided to extend her skill set further and accepted. Soon after Claudia became pregnant and left the workforce in 2006.

Now Claudia is a mother of two and is in the process of gradually returning to the workforce. She enjoyed working in a team environment and was looking for an open and honest employer who provides a relaxed and friendly setting – with Infinite Possibilities being the perfect match. When not juggling the children and family life, Claudia enjoys to continually improve herself and is currently studying for a Diploma in Child and Adolescent Psychology.
